Review 1: 2014 Thailand Toy Expo FoxBox Studio exclusive Black Hermes Psychoprompus

Backstory by Foxbox Studio:
Acropolis Inc., the first corporation to distribute energy to the people of Hellenic Republic, was founded by a primary Ruler, Zeus. Zeus has many sons and among them is Hermes. Although he is chosen to be among the big twelve in the company, he has never been Zeus' favorite. He is always the one doing most of the work even if the glory always falls on his brothers. Apollo being the great one or Ares as the brave one. While he never seemed to have much ambition, nevertheless cunning is Hermes' greatest strength. He needs neither physical prowess nor great charisma to get his way. Instead, he can manipulate Acropolis' dying capital utilizing only his quick wit, and although he never really cares about Acropolis' fate, he saved it time and again using his relationship with Hades. Despite being born a Ruler, Hermes is a human sympathizer and he will be a central character in aiding the humans to rise against the Rulers.

This was the 2014 Thailand Toy Expo (May 1-4 @ Central World, Bangkok) FoxBox Studio 1/6 scale God Complex “Black Hermes Psychoprompus” 12-inch action figure, an event exclusive limited to only 20 pieces, and priced at 8500 Thai Baht, available via Raffle only. I feel very privileged to have this limited edition figure for a review and to be able to post pictures for all to enjoy :) It seems like FoxBox Studio God Complex Hermes is meant to be a quite unattainable and very rare figure since both times he is released in very limited numbers.

This is Foxbox Studio's second 1/6 scale "God Complex: Hermes" 12-inch Figure, the first was released back in 2011 and there were only 100 pieces produced. You can check out my reviews of the FIRST Foxbox Studio God Complex: Hermes 1/6 scale figure HERE, HERE and HERE. This particular toy blog post covers this recently released God Complex “Black Hermes Psychoprompus” 12-inch action figure.

The box is quite nice and seems to be inspired by the movie "Tron" with its fluorescent green lines against a black background. Even though only 20 pieces were offered compared to AX2's 50 pieces, the packaging is so much better and nicer. See my earlier post HERE of the 2014 Thailand Toy Expo Exclusive AX2 1/6 scale Taketa High Furyo Yuske 12-inch figure.

The box closes and opens using hidden magnetic buttons and when you open the packaging, there are two trays on each side, one containing the 1/6 scale accessories and the other holds the 12-inch God Complex “Black Hermes Psychoprompus” figure.

2014 Thailand Toy Expo FoxBox Studio exclusive God Complex: Black Hermes Psychoprompus 12-inch figure 1/6 scale accessories include: two pairs of extra hands (fist gloved hands and gesturing hands) plus special light effects.

It also comes with a figure display stand

In the other tray lies 2014 Thailand Toy Expo event exclusive FoxBox Studio God Complex: Black Hermes Psychoprompus 12-inch figure

2014 Thailand Toy Expo event exclusive FoxBox Studio 1/6 scale God Complex: Black Hermes Psychoprompus 12-inch figure out of the box, in a almost all black ensemble, in stark contrast to the first release Hermes figure (pictures HERE). Check out the turnaround views :)

Close-up pictures of the 2014 Thailand Toy Expo event exclusive FoxBox Studio God Complex: Black Hermes Psychoprompus 1/6 scale head sculpt. I always felt that Hermes looked very bird-like. The fact that he "flies" also helps. You can compare pictures of this head with the earlier version posted HERE

Thanks Kaido but this piece isn't mine ;p someone who managed to get it in Thailand let me review it. I feel privileged to have seen it first hand and was able to do the review too. Cheers

Cheers, Alex, congrats to your friend who was able to score such a rare figure. I like this one, and the fact that it's a limited edition of 50 increases the figure's desirability for sure. But the quality of the original's outfit seems better. I've kind of halted collecting the entire line now, since pricing seems a tad high, and I haven't been as impressed with Hades or Inari and finally I don't want to wait a year between releases.
