Let's Fight! Brother Production Fighting Club "Tayler" REVIEW III

Having already seen the Brother Production Fighting Club 1:6 scale "Tayler" 12-inch figure (worldwide limited production of 200 pieces) in the previous posts HERE and HERE, I wanted to show the alternate Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden head sculpt and bandaged fist hands on a TTL produced 12-inch body.

Rule #6 - They fight without shirts or shoes. And that's what this Brother Production Fighting Club 1:6 scale "Tayler" 12-inch figure is aiming to do - fight with no shirt and no shoes :)

Most 1/6 scale 12-inch bodies these days are designed to be loaded up with layers of fabric clothing or tons of gear and pouches (for military figures) and so, they are designed with a thinner chest and torso. In the old days, 12-inch figure bodies had huge chests and arms but after loading up on the gear, they looked too bulky and over-loaded with arms that could not go across their bodies, making them look more like the muscle men of the Mr Universe contest who could never put their arms on their sides (the arms always stick out) instead of the lean, mean fighting machines they are supposed to be.

The thinness of the 12-inch figure body is most obvious when seen from the side where you can see how disproportionate the body looks. Remember that this TTL 12-inch body is meant to be loaded up with layers of clothing and gear including accessories, not designed to be shown bare. I wanted to show how different this body is compared to the Hot Toys King Leonidas figure which was designed to be topless and buff!

Here's the Brother Production Fighting Club 1:6 scale "Tayler" 12-inch figure wielding the pair of side-handle batons (sometimes referred to as T-batons or Nightsticks) which are included with the set. See my previous post HERE for all the set inclusions, and then some.

I remember most vividly seeing the cast of T.J. Hooker carrying these T-batons and using them on criminals in the TV series. T.J. Hooker was an American police drama television program starring William Shatner in the title role as a 15-year veteran police sergeant. The series premiered as a mid-season replacement on March 13, 1982 on ABC and ran on the network until May 4, 1985. The show was then picked up for a further single season by CBS.

The supporting cast includes Adrian Zmed (he of "Grease 2" fame) as rookie Officer Vince Romano, Heather Locklear as Officer Stacy Sheridan (she was one of the reasons for watching the show), and Richard Herd as Captain Dennis Sheridan as personnel in the fictional "LCPD" Police Department Academy Precinct. Here's Tyler with his Nunchaku, made famous in modern culture through Bruce Lee movies. Bruce Lee famously uses nunchaku in his films including Fists of Fury, Game of Death, Way of the Dragon, and Enter the Dragon.

Do note that only the 1:6 scale Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden head sculpt, bandaged fist hands, pair of side-handle batons (sometimes referred to as T-batons or Nightsticks) and 1:6 scale Nunchaku are from the Brother Production Fighting Club 1:6 scale "Tayler" 12-inch boxed figure set. The 12-inch body is from TTL and the pants bought loose from a 1:6 parts store :)
